A £5.7m major extension to an existing 1970’s Sports Centre, which involved the complete reordering of the centre creating a new entrance and reception with a new pool hall, health and fitness and refurbishment of the existing facilities. The old pool hall was converted to a 1000-seater multi-purpose auditorium.

The scheme offers a new facade to the A4 road, which passes by it, and the use of glazing and landscaping gives the passer-by a view into the new facility, and at the same time gives a light and airy feel to the interior. This scheme won an award in a Maidenhead and Windsor environmental and architectural awards scheme.

The practice has subsequently completed a further extension and alterations to the centre.
