Saville Jones, working with Continuum Leisure was appointed by Hackney Borough Council to provide an assessment of the condition of the existing leisure centre and the redevelopment potential of the adjacent site and parkland.

The study was predicated on the fact that any proposed redevelopment of facilities on the Britannia Leisure Centre site had to show the long term benefits, address the current needs of the borough and complement the regeneration plans for Shoreditch Park.

Saville Jones produced outline plans and accommodation schedule for various viability options, which had to finance any redevelopment or major improvements to the Leisure Centre. Options were costed, valued and market tested.

Planning policy and massing studies enabled realistic proposals, which had the support of planners, and therefore could be recommended.
