This new leisure centre on a school site in Taunton was part-funded by Sport England with money from the National Lottery. The centre is on the site of Ladymead School and is located at the rear of the school adjacent to the school playing fields.

The centre contains foyer and reception, changing accommodation for both external play and internal play, a six-court sports hall, health and fitness gym, including saunas and spa, dance studio, café, function room and bar. In addition, the sports hall was designed to double as a concert and conference venue and includes a stage with a proscenium arch and seating for up to 1200 people.

The envelope is a mixture of solid masonry and light-weight cladding panels, giving expression to the different volumes within the building. Good levels of natural light penetrate into the heart of the building and help to create a light, airy feel to the interior.
